The Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited Wednesday, July 5, organised the 3rd interactive forum with its resellers and potential resellers in Abuja. The aim of the forum was to discuss the business and other areas of mutual benefits to existing partnerships.
In her welcome remarks, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Abimbola Alale who expressed optimism, thanked the guests for honouring the Company’s invitation. She urged them to take advantage of any information generated at the forum and to express their views and experiences on the products and services of the Company. She said, “We need to address issues as they concern our relationship and partnership so as to find a common position. This is teamwork; we provide the infrastructure while you are the last mile providers. We can work around your requirements. This forum is interactive, with the intent to proffer solutions.”
In a similar vein, the General Manager, Business and Marketing, Engineer Shehu Kaura, appreciated the resellers and the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for their commitment to NIGCOMSAT, stating that NIGCOMSAT’s journey to success is being made possible with the partnership. While highlighting the benefits, Kaura reiterated the roles the resellers are expected to play which include branding of their services towards the end-user market, marketing and sales, operation of outlets, purchase and provision of logistics for end-user equipment and support for CPE installation. “On our part, NIGCOMSAT would sell the required dedicated capacity, manage profiles, provide and operate the infrastructure and the technical support required,” he added.
Presenters at the forum discussed the issues of carrier Spectrum Management and how broadband is a driving force for growth. They agreed that Nigeria has the product, market and people to grow in the ICT world, and there is a need for aggressive marketing like what is obtainable in other countries.
NIGCOMSAT also confirmed its awareness on challenges faced such as interference, availability, service interruption, affirming its resolve to tackling them, introducing new ways of providing seamless services. The Company also assured the partners to expect more support and innovation and above all, a high return on investment.
NIGCOMSAT also used the forum to introduce its Direct-to-Home (DTH) Platform, urging the Resellers to venture into the installation and distribution of set-top boxes for the reception of Radio and Television Transmissions on NIGCOMSAT satellites.
