NigComSat-1
NigComSat 1 is a geosynchronous communication satellite, Nigeria’s third satellite and first communication satellite. It was launched on 13th May 2007. On November 11th 2008, it failed in orbit after losing power as a result of abnormalities in its solar array.

NigComSat-1R is an improved replacement of NigComSat-1. This geosynchronous communication satellite was launched on 19th of December 2011 in Xichang, China. It provides broadband, bandwidth leasing, broadcasting, navigation and other value added services for homes and businesses in rural and urban areas.
